Focus 7 has enjoyed through our years of business, the opportunity to take film-making to our community.

We are proud to work along side youth clubs, schools, and adult education in film making workshops.

As well as workshops we have in the past offered discounted films to dance groups, CIC’s and Schools. Helping a community group to produce a film about their area or some aspect of their lives is empowering in the fact that every seems to benefit.

We also help to promote community events, either by producing an advert for the said event or a web package about the event. We produced through a 10 week workshop programme a film with West Marsh youth centre in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire. The film idea came from the young people themselves about smashing stereotypes. They wrote, rehearsed, acted and produced.

This form of distribution via festivals and the internet is another way to empower the film makers, knowing their film will be there for all to see helps to bring home the realisation that someone in another country will watch what they have made can be exciting and scary all at the same time.

It’s always a pleasure to work with Focus 7, they understand how to engage young people and have developed an excellent relationship with our staff. They have been able to work with us on a whole variety of projects, from creating youth film & educational pieces to interviews & documentaries, they have always been friendly, approachable and professional. The Focus 7 crew are always happy to bounce ideas around with our artists and they have been an inspiration to us and our work, above all they make film making fun for our young people! The excellent quality of their finished product has frequently impressed us and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Emma Nicholson, Artistic Director, Fusion Youth Theatre
